Training options
There are two ways to complete unit or skill standards, depending on your experience:
Assessment-only for those with existing skills.
Tutor-supported for those who want guidance and support.
Assessment-only (for experienced individuals)
For those who already have the required skills and want formal recognition.
What’s included:
- Assessments completed via our online learning platform (Canvas).
- Access to assessment materials or limited background information.
- No formal learning or teaching support provided.
- Designed for those with existing skills and knowledge
Outcome:
- Results reported to NZQA and added to your Record of Learning
Refunds and withdrawal:
- ❌ No refund available
- You may withdraw at any time
Tutor-supported (with guidance and support)
For those who want to build knowledge with structured support.
What’s included:
- Access to online learning resources via our online-learning platform (Canvas).
- A dedicated tutor or assessor to provide support.
- Access to scheduled online tutorials (where applicable).
- Assessments completed and marked by ATNZ.
Outcome:
- Results reported to NZQA and added to your Record of Learning
Refunds and withdrawal:
- ✔ Refund available within 8 days of enrolment
- You may withdraw at any time
How delivery works
Training and assessment are delivered online (or blended where applicable).
Depending on your option, you’ll receive either:
- Assessment materials only, or
- Full learning support and resources
All assessments are marked by ATNZ.
Access and timeframes
Access to the learning platform: 12 months from enrolment.
- Withdrawal at any time.
- Subject to ATNZ policies and learner regulations.
Refunds and withdrawals
Refund eligibility depends on the option selected and the timing of your withdrawal.

- Include the unit or skill standard number.
